Introduction

When I discovered Dhrupad during a Rudra-Veena concert, this suspended moment changed my entire vision of music. Deeply marked by the artistic freedom and textural beauty of the Raag system, I decided to devote myself to Dhrupad.

In 2002, I began learning with the great masters of Dhrupad Ustad Z. Farridudin Dagar and Ustad Bahauddin Dagar. After studing this art form for twelve years through Master-disciple transmission, living in the Gurukul (Master's house), I believe Dhrupad is much more than a form of art, it’s a true way of life.

Today I continue to learn with Ustad Bahauddin Dagar and with another great master of Dhrupad Pandit Pushpraj Koshti.

Sharing the knowledge that I have gain by being an apprentice and playing concerts whenever opportunities present itself, is what I like to keep myself occupied with.
